Rice flour Roti

Dosha benefits: Kapha

Ingredients:

  • Rice flour 1 ½ cup
  • Water 1 ½ cup
  • Green chillies 1 (finely chopped)
  • Onion 1/2 (finely chopped)
  • Chopped curry leaves and coriander leaves
  • Grated Coconut
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 2 tsp

Recipe:

  • Add salt to the water and bring it to a boil. Reduce the flame to low and add the rice flour. 
  • Mix everything well. Switch off and leave it for 10 minutes.
  • Add chopped onions, coriander, chilies, grated coconut, cumin, ginger to the flour.
  • When the dough is still warm, knead it nicely like chapati dough.
  • Make small lemon sized balls. Roll it out using a bread rolling pin or with hand.
  • Heat a griddle (tawa) on high heat and then reduce the flame to medium. 
  • Transfer the rolled-out flour gently to the hot tawa.
  • Immediately sprinkle some water on the top surface to prevent it from getting dried up.
  • When one side starts cooking, flip and cook the other side. 
  • Repeat the flipping once more and then serve hot with spice powder.

Ayurveda Tip:

  • Rice is an ancient grain which is low in fat, low calorie and high nutrition. It is easy on the digestive system.
