Dosha benefits: Vata
Ingredients:
- Chayote 5 cups
- Coconut ½ cup
- Green Chili 1
- Curry leaves few
- Mustard ½ tsp
- Turmeric ½ tsp
- Oil to taste
- Salt to taste
Recipe:
- Peal the chayote. Cut it into 2 and core the seed out.
- Chop into small pieces and keep aside.
- Heat a little oil in a pan. Add the mustard seeds. When it sputters, add turmeric.
- Add the chopped chayote and give it a stir. Do not cover the pan.
- After 5 minutes, it will be almost cooked.
- Pulse the coconut, green chili and curry leaves. Add it to the pan along with some salt.
- Mix and cook for a few more minutes. The coconut will absorb any excess water.
- Serve with some rice.

- Chayote squash has protective effects on the heart, blood vessels and skin. It is also good for diabetics and could support weight loss.
