Banana Stem Soup

Dosha benefits: Pitta

Ingredients:

  • Banana stem 5” long
  • Sweet corn 125 gms
  • Water 1 cup + 250 ml
  • Lime juice to taste
  • Black salt to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Recipe:

  • Cut the banana stem into round pieces. While cutting, remove the thread which comes out of it.
  • After cutting, add corn, one cup water and pressure cook the same for 4-5 whistles.
  • Cool it and grind it to a smooth paste in the mixer.
  • Add 250 ml water and strain through a strainer. 
  • Transfer the same into a kadai (pot or pan) and boil it with black pepper powder and black salt.
  • Just before removing from the stove, add lime juice and stir.
  • Transfer into bowls, garnish and serve.

Ayurveda Tip:

  • This soup is very nutritious for diabetics and for those with kidney ailments
