About Suzanne Ropiequet

Baby making and motherhood can be a fast-track path of evolution, yet you and I both know there are obstacles and detours — which easily obscure this benefit. The postpartum window tends to present a big Y in the road for a mother’s physical and often mental health because we are extra fragile. So the long lasting effects of this time begin with care practices within the first half-hour after birth. Sacred Window’s webinars and books help you to best team up with Mother Nature’s plan for this sacred time.

Baby-love is such an important power in the natural bonds of heart and spirit. There is sacred Shakti present in this bond that naturally supports mother’s rejuvenation and baby’s growth. Especially with the many challenges of childbirth that so many experience–from exhaustion and loneliness to negativity in the environment or a dural tube puncture in surgical birth–mama and baby can both suffer. In any case, innocent love and commitment are often not enough to nourish the natural, dynamic process of recovery and evolution. Frequently, mother and baby need professional care. And that’s where Ayudoulas come in! (Check out this new Ayudoula Caregiver Directory on one of our affiliates’ sites.

Suzanne is Sacred Windows current administrator and webmaster. Starting her career in the high-tech industry of the early 80s, Suzanne turned her attention to studying Vedic philosophy, meditation, Yoga, and hypnotherapy in the 90s. This brought her into contact with Ayurveda, which she began earnestly studying in 1998 at the California College of Ayurveda (CCA), and later at the Ayurvedic Institute, Mount Madonna Institute (MMI), Ayurved Sadhana, and several locations in India. Suzanne has practiced Ayurveda for several years in California, with an innovative specialty that combined Ayurvedic principles with South Indian body therapies and hypnotherapy. At that time, she also served as faculty at CCA and mentor at MMI for several years.  She is currently a Washington State Licensed Massage Therapist, NAMA Ayurvedic health counselor, and panchakarma technician, specializing in Ayurvedic bodywork and rejuvenative therapies.

In 2012, Suzanne started training with Ysha, and later became active in Sacred Window School, offering adminstrative support to Ysha to help her develop her online classrooms.  When Ysha died suddenly in 2015, Suzanne volunteered to be acting director of the school because of her close association with the technical aspects of the school. Over the past 4 years Suzanne worked closely with a dedicated group of Ysha’s former students and professional birthworkers to support and ensure that this important work continues. Each year we see more books, courses, schools, and professional practices coming into being or in development around the world — not unlike the vision that Ysha held for so many years. Please check out a few educational programs here that trace their inspiration to Ysha’s work:  Center for Sacred Window Studies: Ayurvedic Postpartum Caregiver Program;  Ayurvedic Mother & Infant (AMI):  Postpartum Ayurdoula Programme;  Ayurved Sadhana:  Ayurvedic Doula – Nutrition and Support Program.
