About Neelam Singh

Namaste and blessings, I am a certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor. I am based in Brooklyn, New York although I have strong ties to Costa Rica and visit there frequently.  I am an Ayurvedic Health Counselor, Food Yogi, Eastern Nutritionist & Breath Work Coach sharing authetic teachings from Ayurveda for modern living.

I was raised in an Indian household that incorporated many aspects of Yoga and Ayurveda including using herb, plant and food-based remedies to address health issues. From an early age, I understood the deep and intimate connection between food and wellness in all of its forms — mind, emotional, heart, physical and spiritual wellness. 

I have been an intentional and conscious eater for most of my life, starting with me turning vegetarian in 2003. As my journey continued, I have acquired more understanding of cooking medicinally - with intention and purpose - and Ayurvedically - to restore balance, heal and detoxify.  This has also empowered me to address health issues first with food, teas, herbs, rest, meditation and breathing rather than immediately turning to allopathic medicine which may alleviate the symptoms, but mask the root of the issue. After turning to Ayurveda for healing after facing health complications in 2012, I realized that it was part of my journey to share the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga because the power to heal, recenter, restore balance, detoxify, expand or elevate your consciousness is too beautiful to not share. 

I decided to formalize my Ayurvedic knowledge by becoming a certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor in 2015.  I have a practice in New York City where I work with clients in assessing their mind-body constitution make-up, identifying any imbalances and working with them to restore balance through diet, herbs, meditation, yoga, pranayama and other lifestyle changes. I host a variety of workshops that share principles of Yoga and Ayurveda and how they can benefit or enhance your life. 

Since completing my program in 2015, I have received additional certifications in Pulse Analysis, Tongue Analysis, Marma Therapy and Ayurvedic Herbal Formulations.  I also spent a few months working with clients in an Ayurvedic wellness center in Kerala, India.
