I feel in love with Ayurveda long before I understood what it truly was.
I had grown up with a heart defect, a child of hippie parents, believing in food, fresh air and living life will help the body heal. It wasn't till I was 16 and a Cardiac Specialist(who changed my life) said to me, learn to meditate - your physical body is under stress and add in yoga to create balance.
This was the beginning for me. It took several more years until I understood or even listened to the words he shared that day, but it was that tiny spark that moved the flame.
I did gentle yoga and then trained in massage therapy, feeling that their had to be more, I went on to do Caring for Clients with cancer with the tools of Reiki, and this is where I was introduced to Ayurveda. Learning Ayurveda body-work introduced me to TM(Transcendental Mediation), gentle yoga, eating for my own body, and self care.
Over the years, working with clients, I have learned and understood the struggles that my clients have and how much power we have when we add in self-care.
Through Metta Wellness I bring these tools of massage, Reiki, mediation and Ayurveda to my clients.
